5 Minute Golden Milk Smoothie

Golden milk, a traditional Eastern beverage, has been used for centuries and is popular today for its potential for improving gut health, decreasing inflammation and improving immunity, improving mood and brain function, reducing cardiovascular risks, and stabilizing blood sugar.

This 5 minute Golden Milk Smoothie uses kefir and bananas, which add a prebiotic and probiotic boost to this mildly sweet, ginger snappy, earthy drink.

Turmeric adds a warming, earthy taste, and is what makes this drink golden. You can start with 2 tsp and add more as desired.

Equipment: Measuring spoons, measuring cup, smoothie maker or blender

Ingredients:

1 cup plain kefir (for vegan, use coconut kefir

1 frozen banana

2-3 tsp turmeric

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 tsp honey

½ tsp cinnamon

¼ tsp ginger

⅛ tsp cardamom

⅛ tsp nutmeg

Pinch or shake of black pepper

Directions:

Place all ingredients in blender and blend to desired consistency
